UK travel start-up Accomable, which bills itself as ‘the Airbnb for disabled people’ is advising EuTravel to help it offer door-to-door transport for those with mobility issues.

EU-funded project EuTravel says it is working with major GDS providers and transport companies to tap into existing systems that can offer service to people with disabilities.

The deal means EuTravel is consulting with Accomable to find ways to offer adapted hotels as well as various modes of transport across all EU countries.

Accomable will use its knowledge in adapted travel to advise on accessibility and engage with EuTravel’s  userbase to provide insight on how to fully cater for the disabled elderly.

EuTravel is managed by Inlecom, whose project support director Yash Chadha said: “Accessibility is at the heart of the EuTravel Project. Our technology will make it easy for citizens of the EU and international visitors to travel across the single market, and to plan journeys which suit their individual needs. Key to this is ensuring the service is open to everyone, including disabled users and anyone with a mobility issue, which is why we’re thrilled to have Accomable onboard as consultants on accessibility.”
