Former Expedia customer experience head joins dnata Travel as chief operating officer

Former Expedia director of global customer experience Stuart Newman has joined dnata Travel as chief operating officer.

The newly created role covers Emirates Group-owned dnata’s brands in Europe including Travel Republic, Netflights and B2B suppliers Travel 2 and Gold Medal.

Newman joined this month and reports into Paul Gale, vice-president of operations for dnata Travel, who is based in Dubai. Neman is based in the UK.

The role was described as a back office function with responsibilities for services, call centres and Customer Relationship Management (CRM).

Prior to being global customer experience at Expedia, Newman was director of eCommerce – emerging markets at the global OTA giant.

He joined Expedia in 2009 having held a number of senior positions at computer hardware manufacturer Dell.

Gale said: “Stuart’s background is in CRM and customer experience and driving optimisation in those areas.

“He has a great track record where ever he has been and he was available in the market and dnata took the opportunity to bring him in and drive those areas forward.”
