Peer-to-peer travel money exchange WeSwap has announced a new one-click API that integrates its travel money services with partners’ businesses.

WeSwap Connect is designed to make WeSwap tehnically simple and financially rewarding for businesses in the travel industry.

The firm says it can boost revenue, increase brand exposure and reward loyalty for travel industry providers who want to offer their customers an additional service.

WeSwap works by users swapping currencies with each other online, cutting out the Bureau de Change.

Rob Stross, WeSwap CMO said: “WeSwap Connect means our travel industry partners can bring their customers a twenty-first century travel money product, alongside complimentary services such as car rental, flights and accommodation. Partners also benefit from access to a wealth of user data that gives them a broader understanding of their customer base. We see this as a first step in WeSwap becoming an integral part of the travel ecosystem”

Not Just Travel has partnered with WeSwap. CEO Steve Whitt said: “It’s a fantastic product that our travel agents are excited to be involved with. At Not Just Travel we always try to keep ahead of the game – we’re doing exactly that with WeSwap. WeSwap’s unique business model is an industry first, which gives the customer the best currency card on the market. We are looking forward to seeing the relationship blossom in the months and years to come.”

WeSwap has broadened its user base and secured a further 18 partnerships since July 2016, including with SIXT, Perkbox, Secret Escapes, LoveHomeSwap, Zopa and Affordable Car Hire.

The currency exchange platform has also expanded its consumer travel money offering by launching Travel Cash services alongside the pre-paid Mastercard.

The Travel Cash service includes all its global currencies, and is delivered direct to travellers doors on request.
