Peer to peer travel marketplace TransferTravel.com has purchased second-hand flight portal JumpFlight.com.
TransferTravel.com allows sellers to list unwanted travel plans, including flight tickets, hotel reservations and package holidays.
Sellers can get money back on non-refundable plans while buyers can snap up a last minute deal at a reduced price and customers can now log in via a secure social media connection so buyers and sellers can complete transactions without exchanging phone or email contacts.
Future plans for TransferTravel.com include setting up a payment gateway.
Founder Simon Powell said: “Thousands upon thousands of travelers use JumpFlight.com every month to buy and sell unused airline tickets, this significantly strengthens TransferTravel.com’s position as the leading peer-to-peer travel marketplace, and the number one flight ticket re-seller.
“With JumpFlight.com based in Europe, the brand has grown into an international platform and this creates opportunities to further expand our customer base across the globe. Part of acquiring JumpFlight.com includes a full translation of the site.”
TransferTravel.com recently launched its new website.
Brand manager Jenna Heidstrom added: “Buying JumpFlight not only secures our position as the leading platform for pre-owned flight bookings, it also means that we rank higher in search results, and anchors our place within the online travel industry.
“Registered JumpFlight users will receive the benefits of a modern, mobile friendly website with added security features, and TransferTravel.com users will have more listings to choose from. The purchase has increased the value for users which is at the core of our company focus.”
