Travel technology specialist Open Destinations will unveil a new package holiday module at this year’s ITB Asia and World Travel Market.

Package Builder is the latest addition to the company’s Travel Studio reservations platform, which is being used travel businesses in more than 30 countries.

Kevin O’Sullivan, chief executive of Open Destinations, said: “Our clients have extremely complex needs when it comes to packaging.

“They need a simple, intuitive and quick way of building sophisticated itineraries – whether their trips depart daily, weekly or twice a year. They need more flexibility than ever before.”

The module has been designed with Open Destinations’ diverse client base of tour operators and O’Sullivan claimed this will have mass appeal to the worldwide market.

Enhancements to the user interface have simplified the process of building package itineraries, such as using drag-and-drop functionality to make adjustments to itineraries.

Open Destinations said the software has been designed “to optimise the user journey of building single and multi-day package itineraries, combining both ground and flight services along with any associated data, such as content, pricing, departure dates, allocation and cancellation policies”.

The module also allows itineraries to be predefined and then sold as escorted or private tours with flexible pricing, dates and itinerary variations.

Open Destinations has also increased the range of channel managers and suppliers integrated with the system. Recent additions include SiteMinder, RateTiger, Restel (Hotusa), Tourico and DerbySoft.

Open Destinations be at WTM (Stand TT440) in London in November and ITB Asia (Stand B08) in Singapore next week offering demos of the latest version of Travel Studio.
